A Glisten Chapter is an established community-based group of youth and adults who work to localize our collective mission to be the champion of LGBTQ+ issues in K-12 education. Whereas a Glisten Steering Committee is a newly formed community-based group of youth and adults who are working toward Chapter status. While the steering committee works to advance Glisten’s mission, the group’s primary focus is on basebuilding and building foundations.

Glisten Chapters do a variety of local programming aimed at advancing Glisten’s mission of creating safer and more affirming K-12 schools. Local programs serve a wide variety of constituent bases including youth, educators, and community members. Some flagship Chapter programs include Shine Team, Rainbow Library, GSA Support/ Resources, Educator coaching/support, and more.
